The Third KZN Honey Festival, hosted by the KZN Bee Farmers Association, will be held on Sunday 31 July 2022 from 9am to 3pm at the Royal Showgrounds in Pietermaritzburg.
The Associa1on aims to promote public awareness of bees and beekeeping; and to build networks within the honey and beekeeping industry with a strong emphasis on the importance of supporting local beekeepers in South Africa.
The Honey Festival promises to be a fun day out for the whole family – Stalls filled with honey and honey/bee-related products for sale, honey tasting, auctions of prize-winning honey, kid’s entertainment, gourmet food stalls, talks on bees & bee keeping, art displays, demonstrations, displays and all about Mead! Jackie Cameron School of Food and Wine will be performing demonstrations and cook offs throughout the day.
This is a window into the bee keeping world. Displays and talks will showcase preparation of honey including choosing the right honey to buy, safety and security of bees and bee sites, bee removals from buildings, planting/gardening for bees, how to begin bee keeping, and an opportunity to sample many different types/sources of honey.
Entrance fee: R30 for adults R15 for children under 12 Children under 5 free.
All proceeds go to the KZN Bee Farmers Associa1on and will be used towards developing and sustaining beekeeping in KwaZulu-Natal. Regret No ATM on site.
